Man - after a week of intense pushing, we finally managed to put up a decent performance at the Alumni Association. Some minor glitches but all in all, IM VERY PROUD OF THE CAST!
Ben and Shawn - you SANG ON FIRE for the "Just Imagine song." Seriously, i think mic-ed up and faced with an audience, you guys just lapped up the attention and shone right through. In particular, Ben's stage persona was fabulous - the professionalism and dedication to his role never fails to make me keep hope.
Eunice - the rendition of "Invisible" had to be one of your best. Sure there was some mis-syncing of the music... but it was the rest of the song that really made up for it. This was a rendition where you poured far more emotion in to than your regular sessions. Keep it up girl! :) Cast, YOU ROCK MY WORLD!
Our next hurdle comes December 8th where we perform to the senior management of NUS. All in all, i can only hope that the response will get better in the canvasing aspect... we are still a very broke production! That said, i was VERY touched by the enthusiastic showing by the members of the advertising and ticketing team. they sacrificed CA mugging time to come down to help publicise OT2 at the expense of their own highly tight time frames.
Moyin's idea of the t-shirt is proving to be one of the most prescient unplanned for inclusions to the marketing drive campaign. It spreads publicity, makes us seem a lot more credible and yes, it also makes money! How much more can a producer ask for!
Extra credit also must go to Grace and the music team who came up with a recording of the opening song on such short notice.... as they say: no music, no musical! Truthfully, that true statement couldn't truly be truer said!
Jinesh and team also seem to have shaped up and have been making successful bomb runs into hospitals and getting donations left-right-centre. Kudos to the brave few who take the piles of unglamorous administrative work and yet work hand in hand towards a common goal. Marketing: its a luckless and thankless job... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Lastly, theres Chris - my tireless co-director whos had to suffer my "stressed-out "temperament, last minute changes, rehearsal scheduling, music sessions and so much more. Chris, if i haven't already said this, i love you - but i think you know that already.
If i haven't specifically mentioned you in this post, i still want to give a big "Thank You! OT Cast and Crew!" I know we're gonna make this a fantastic musical.
